BIOGRAPHY
Harry Edward Birdsell
Harry Edward Birdsell was born in New York February 9, 1927, son of Ethel Mae Billington Birdsell and Harold L Birdsell. He had a brother Robert and two sisters Gloria and Diane. In Rye his family lived at
23 Purchase St.
. and were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Harry attended Rye schools and was a graduate of Rye High School. Before the war he was working at Gristede's Market on Purchase St.
Harry enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
After the war, Harry was employed as a bartender at the Dugout in Rye. In the 1960's he was the manager of the Wally's Five Points basketball team that had an incredible record shattering 60 game winning streak. Harry was living by then in Port Chester and was a parishioner of the Church of Our Lady of Mercy
Harry E Birdsell ,46, of 39 N Main St Port Chester died suddenly Friday June 15, 1973 at United Hospital
At the time of his Death he was survived by his mother, a brother Robert J Birdsell of Mamaroneck and two sisters Mrs. Gerald (Gloria) Obuchowski of Stamford -and Miss Diane Birdsell.
